(Today a dear family had to say goodbye to their beloved son. I am just sick about it, especially after news stories recently like this. I usually don’t get preachy and political on my blog. But today, I am doing both.)
If you’ve received a prenatal Down syndrome diagnosis & are considering abortion…
Just know.
There are parents today whose hearts are breaking because their beloved little boy (who happens to have Down syndrome), the light of their lives, has flown up to heaven. They had to say goodbye to him, and would DO ANYTHING to change it.
If you’ve received a prenatal Down syndrome diagnosis & are considering abortion…
Just know.
There are parents who have gone to the ends of the earth to bring a child (who happens to have Down syndrome) into their family.
If you’ve received a prenatal Down syndrome diagnosis & are considering abortion…
Just know.
It’s ok to be scared, and confused, and unsure.
But please…
Just know.
A child with Down syndrome is an individual. A person with purpose and so much to offer.
That’s YOUR BABY.
You have a choice between darkness and light in your life.
Right now, children who are the light of their parents’ lives, are leaving this world.
Right now, a parent is flying over an ocean to sign a paper to adopt a precious child.
It’s your choice.
But I hope and pray you’ll choose light.

First, My prayers are with the family who lost their son.
My little guy lights up a room with his smile. He will celebrate his first birthday the end of this month. In his first year of life he has made me a better person.
I am heartbroken for Eli and his family. Why does this happen to our beautiful babies? I dont preach, its not worth it, but it pisses me off that babies are terminated like they are worthless and meaningless. If people can only see the love we have for our kids, maybe they would make a better choice! Keep up your fight Gillian, I am right there with u, always.
Thank you for the continued fight to educate parents-to-be on their choices.
